What Is Dueling Actors?

Published by under Uncategorized

Dueling Actors is a piece of radio drama Written, Produced, and Created by Sam Limb & Karl Roberts.

Lending the vocal talents of our two actors we hired for the job; Jim Parker & Matt Davies.

The prodcution is a piece written for radio drama and takes place within a small theatre closed for the evening, in which our main character Andrew (Voiced by : Jim Parker) arrives to rehearse after booking the hall in advance for the evening. However, ‘Hugo’ (Voiced by Matt Davies) has other plans, and has already aquired the keys for the hall and is mid-performance as our main character enters the room.

The piece is a light comedy with a heavy emphasis on the works of shakespeare and the intergration into current day with dry humor, reminiscent of a production written by Ricky Gervais, such as the office or ‘Lifes Too Short’ also written by Ricky Gervais & Stephen Merchant.

Recording Done

Published by under Uncategorized

Recording finished on 1st February 2012, and we took plenty of takes to make sure we had everything we needed, to prevent us coming back into the studio at a later date to have to re-record or source certain lines.

After listening back to the recordings we decided that the second take ironed out any issues we were having with the previous takes noise levels and clipping issues we encountered during the recording process.

The third take we kept simply to fall back on and use in the effects process later on during editing, as it provided a different range of certain lines as we encouraged the actors to go all out in that take and try whatever they felt like.

All in all a hefty editing session awaits us. keep posted for updates.

Jim Parker                                             Matt Davies
